Occupational Therapist - Wagga Wagga, NSW

Job No: RDN993
Location: Wagga Wagga, NSW

Occupational Therapist

Wagga Wagga, NSW

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Occupational Therapist who wants to make a difference in rural communities. Must be passionate about working with children and families.

About Us:

We are a small but growing team that specialises in neuro-development disorders, e.g Autism, ADHD, Intellectual disability, Learning disability etc, however, also do a bit of more generalised work as well. The majority of our caseload is kids and teens, however we don't have a specific age limit. Currently, we have offices in Wagga and Temora, and offer outreach to Cootamundra, Junee and am looking at Coolamon, so there is travel involved. We currently have 2 psychologists, and NDIS Support Coordinator and have a Mental Health Social Worker. We all offer a combination of therapy and assessments, and we are starting to offer small groups.

About the Role:

As a Occupational Therapist, I need someone who is able to work independently and is also happy to work with me and the team, and educate me to develop the OT role. I am wanting to build up multidisciplinary assessments, so someone able to work collaboratively is a must. There is an expectation to help with marketing and education with other local services such as schools and Dr's, to develop and maintain relationships. We are also introducing groups to the clinic, so ideally, the Occupational Therapist would be able to facilitate groups as well as individual sessions and assessments.

As an employer, I believe in trusting my staff and allowing flexibility, as long as the work gets done on time. As such, there is some flexibility offered around days and times, particularly around admin tasks. While we have set client hours, we structure our admin time flexibly to allow for a normal life. I am also a believer in self-care and ensuring staff are not working outside of hours.

As well as flexibility, we supply an Ipad to all staff with accessories, CPD opportunities and will pay for regular external supervision, with a supervisor of their choice (within reason). While staff need to use their own car for travel, all costs are reimbursed at award rates. Wages are negotiable dependant on experience.

Essential Criteria:

Registration with AHPRA
