About the Opportunity
Shoalhaven Family Medical Centres have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse (Credentialed or non Credentialed ) to join their team based in the Shoalhaven area.
More specifically, this will involve (but is not limited to):
- Providing and coordinating clinical services for patients with severe mental health disorders;
- Conducting periodic reviews of patients' mental health states;
- Providing information and education to patients on physical healthcare;
- Monitoring and managing patient medication, as well as its administration;
- Arranging access to interventions from external health professionals; and
- Providing a range of other integrated mental health care services as required.
To be considered for this role, you must be a Registered Nurse (Div 1) with APHRA registration and credentialed with The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. Nurses who have extensive experience in Mental Health will also be considered, combined with an understanding of the needs and requirements of general practice and an interest in community/mental health. Candidates with previous experience in a community-based nursing role will be considered favourably.
Shoalhaven Family Medical Centres are seeking applications from mature-minded and professional candidates with exceptional interpersonal skills. You'll consider yourself a 'team player' and work well in a collaborative environment. An articulate and personable individual, you'll be able to confidently communicate with families, patients and medical professionals of all levels — from adolescents to elderly patients and Psychiatrists to GPs. Importantly, you'll be highly organised, and be able to complete your practical and administrative duties accurately and on-time, with minimal supervision.
A good level of computer literacy is a key requirement for this position. Candidates with skills in using Best Practice software will be considered favourably. Additionally, you must have a CPR certificate (or eligibility to obtain) and current driver's licence.
A key requirement is that you'll perform your duties at one or more of Shoalhaven Family Medical Centres' practices being: Basin View, Culburra Beach, Vincentia and Worrigee Medical Centres. This includes cover for other staff members' leave, sick days, or for additional training.
