PlayAbility Inc are currently looking for a passionate and qualified Speech Pathologist AND Occupational Therapist to join their team. The successful applicant will be working within the Early Intervention & Therapy Supports program working to provide direct educational, therapeutic and supportive activities to children aged 0-18 with a disability and/or developmental delay, and their families. There are currently 2 positions available. 

Delivery can be at either one of PlayAbility’s centres or in families own home, in a small group or on an individual basis, at school, childcare or in the community or a combination of the above. Located on the picturesque Sapphire Coast, Eden is the perfect destination for someone seeking a sea change. From whale-watching, to bush walking, to relaxing on the amazing sandy beaches, Eden has something to offer all year around.

About the Role
The role has three components:

  • Key worker / Provider of family support
  • Consultancy to other members / disciplines of the Early Intervention team
  • Consultancy to other environments eg. early childhood services

Key Selection Criteria

  • Degree or higher qualification in Speech Pathology / Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies
  • Proven experience in working with children with additional needs
  • Proven working knowledge of early childhood development
  • Understanding of the 3 different components and principles of the role
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to organise time and set priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a non-judgemental manner with vulnerable, disadvantaged and Culturally Diverse families
  • Proven ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Sound administrative & organisational skills
  • Ability to use Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

Additional requirements

  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Access to reliable personal transport
  • Current Working With Children Check Clearance
